Behind the transformation
How a Personal Injury Law Firm Tripled Facebook Engagement in 30 Days
When this PI firm partnered with Rankings.io, the problem wasn't effort — it was execution. Posts were going out, but almost no one was engaging. We rebuilt the strategy from the ground up, and in the first month, Facebook engagements jumped 195% and Instagram reach nearly tripled.

“The biggest benefit of working with Rankings.io is that they want you to succeed and can give you the tools to succeed. They know who we are as a firm, what kind of work we do, what kind of clients we’re looking for, and they devise a plan tailored for us to achieve our goals.”

How Started: The Challenge
When this personal injury law firm partnered with Rankings.io, their social media presence had two channels: Instagram and Facebook, both active but underperforming relative to their potential. The firm consistently posted content , but without a clear strategy, posts failed to generate meaningful reach or interaction beyond a small, stagnant core audience.
Historical data from Q4 2025 told the story clearly: Instagram averaged just 39 reach per post with 4 engagements, while Facebook averaged only 2 engagements per post despite 76 impressions. Neither channel was growing. The firm was visible to almost no one outside of existing followers.
In a competitive personal injury market, social media presence directly influences trust and top-of-mind awareness before a potential client ever searches for a lawyer. A firm without consistent visibility on social media will lose ground to those that are, even if it produces superior legal work.

How We Did It: The Strategy
Rankings.io began with a full audit of Q4 2025 performance data across both channels. The findings confirmed what the numbers suggested: The firm had a content execution problem, not a content topic problem. Posts existed, but lacked the strategic structure needed to earn reach, drive interaction, or build consistent audience momentum.
Rankings.io built the strategy around two core principles: Execution quality determines performance, and each platform requires a distinct content approach. Every brief, every post, and every format decision flowed from those two commitments.
1. Q4 2025 Benchmark Establishment
Rankings.io set a formal performance baseline using Q4 2025 (October–December) data across Instagram and Facebook. This created a clean, consistent foundation to measure the true impact of every strategic decision going forward, separating genuine gains from normal monthly variance.
2. Attorney-Led, Human-Centered Content
The highest-performing content in the legal social space consistently features a human face, an attorney on camera, a real team moment, and an authentic perspective. We restructured content briefs to prioritize attorney-led storytelling, on-camera presence, and relatable human narratives over generic informational posts.
3. Settlement-Based Carousel Storytelling (Facebook)
Real case outcomes are among the most compelling content formats for a personal injury audience. Rankings.io developed a carousel storytelling format built around settlement stories: clear outcomes, strong visual structure, and high relatability. This format became the most consistent top performer on Facebook.
4. Hook-First Video Execution
We evaluated every video piece on its opening hook—the first frame that determines whether a viewer stops scrolling. We restructured content that buried the value or delayed the payoff to deliver immediate clarity and relevance within the first two seconds. This discipline drove measurable improvements in watch time and engagement.
5. Platform-Specific Content Alignment
We optimized Instagram for discovery: hooks, reach, and visual contrast to drive algorithmic distribution to new audiences. We treated Facebook as a relationship channel with relatable storytelling, settlement outcomes, and attorney presence to drive meaningful interaction from an established audience. The two platforms received distinct briefs and performance goals.

Before & After
In the first month under the new strategy, performance improved significantly across both channels, with Facebook delivering gains across every single metric and Instagram more than doubling its reach.
Results within 30 days:
- +195% Facebook engagements per post: from 2 to 5.9 average
- +33.2% Facebook engagement rate: from 5.63% to 7.50%
- +43.6% Facebook impressions per post: from 76 to 109
- +174.9% Instagram reach per post: from 39 to 107 average
- +8.3% Instagram engagements per post: from 4 to 4.3
- Top Facebook post: 13 engagements at 15.66% engagement rate (+178% vs benchmark)
- Top Instagram post: 234 reach and 15 engagements (+275% vs benchmark)
The standout finding: Facebook exceeded benchmarks on reach, engagement volume, and engagement rate simultaneously, a rare result that signals genuine content-market fit, not just distribution luck. The settlement carousel format and attorney-led content are the repeatable formats behind it.
Key Wins
- +195% Facebook engagements per post in the first month: from near-zero to a consistently active channel
- +33.2% Facebook engagement rate: exceeding benchmarks on efficiency, not just volume
- +174.9% Instagram reach per post: content now consistently reaching audiences beyond existing followers
- We identified a settlement carousel as a repeatable, high-performing Facebook format
- Attorney-led video content drove the strongest Instagram performance
- Performance driven by execution quality, not platform algorithm changes or seasonal factors

Note: Instagram engagement rate declined as reach expanded significantly beyond the core audience — an expected and healthy pattern during a reach-growth phase. Total reach more than doubled, and absolute engagements increased.
