I am the Graphic Designer at Rankings.io and I bring with me over 12 years of professional design and internet marketing experience. I began my journey at an even earlier age of 8 drawing the Peanuts Gang, Sailor Moon, and My Little Pony. A short time later the internet had just come out, and I was instantly smitten. At this point I had planned to go one of two ways. A character designer for Disney or an Internet Hacker ( I had just seen the movie Hackers). Turns out neither one of these things were feasible because A) I wasn’t really that good at drawing and B) Internet Hacking is illegal. Fast forward to 2003 and I eagerly found myself at The Art Institute of Denver where I studied Graphic and Web Design where I merged my love of design with my love of computers, eureka!
As the daughter of a well known internet marketer my first freelance clients were well internet marketers of course. I grew to know this industry quite well and took a class offered by Michelle McPherson called Crowd Mountain where I quickly got myself ranked #1 for WordPress designer in Google where I sold WordPress websites and SEO packages to my clients.
During my time as a WordPress designer I have been a Woo Themes and StudioPress preferred designer and has been written about by WordPress and WP Engine. I have also been a contributor to the Podcast WPwatercooler, and I currently teach WordPress at a local Code Academy.
In 2015 I sold my WordPress design company and went to work for Hill Country Bible Church, a multi-campus non denominational church as their Senior Designer.
Here, I perfected my print skills as well as was able to collaborate on their rebrand.
Now, I rotate working out of my comfy home office in Cedar Park, TX or at the warmest Starbucks. They can be quite cold don’t ya think? I’m a wife, mom of 1 spunky gal, and drinker of all things espresso. Not only do I know design, but I design using SEO principles with the end user in mind. I’m a self-proclaimed practical designer. Everything in a design should serve a purpose.
